Playing Olympian Nat Cook

It was Victorian Open weekend, one of the best events on the Australian Tour in my home town. It was a typically windy and cold day, that then turned nice, very Melbourne! I had a great Tourny, teaming up with Sabine Link from Manly beach in NSW. We got knocked out in the end by Natalie Cook(gold medal olypmian) and Tara West. It was one hell of a game, with us taking the first set 21-19, then they secured the second 21-18...it was a fight in the third set shoot out, with us down 10-14 late in the set. We saved one match point, went down the good end and fought it out to just miss out losing 13-15, it couldnt have been any closer. Great experience and cant wat until WA Open in 3 weeks time to have another crack at the top teams in the country!

Geelong Audi Week

Eastern Beach in Geelong was the venue for two events over two days to coincide with Geelong Audi Week. Vic Beach Geelong put up a great show, with grandstand, VIP tents and the return of the inflatable!
Finalist's and Greg - Event Organiser
Tuesday put 6 girls up against each other in a to battle it out for Queen of the Beach. A format in which each plays with every girl against every girl. After a brutal day, on hard sand and hot conditions I managed to come away with the title, with 5 wins!

Wednesday was the inagural Bolle Four's Challenger Cup. My team mates, Lauren Spark, Cristy Mace and Nikki Jech fought all day in pairs and four's matches to remain undefeated through the rounds. We faced Jill Cridland, Sandy Burmas, Holli Lawler and Sam Date in the final and didnt take it lightly. We went out there to play hard and after some very close games came away with a clean sheet and the 1st Place. We were rewarded for our efforts with $1000, new Bolle sunglases and a number of other goodies, needless to say we were pretty stoked with the win!

A great event put on by Greg @ Vic Beach and Bolle.

National Tour Update

The past month has been one of many up's and down's. It started with our assult on the Australian Beach Volleyball Series in Manly, with the NSW Open. While we had a comfortable win in our first match, it was going to be an early exit aftert Linda went down with a severe back injury during the second set of the next match. It was very apparant that we were not going to be able to continue through the event so the rest of the weekend was spent recovering Linda and cheering on the many other Victorian Teams.

The next event was in QLD, we were hoping Linda was going to be fit to compete, but unfortunatly this was not the case and so, Junior Victorian, Sian McLean joined me in super windy conditions to take on the rest of the country. We placed a respectable 13th of 23 teams, beating QAS athlets in the process.

The next stop on Tour is the Victorian Open, 12-13th of February in conjunction with St Kilda Festival.
